AIA California regularly sponsors legislation that supports the practice of architecture in California, as well as modifying existing law. The organization’s demonstrated success in the area would not be possible without the partnership of Legislative Offices, elected officials and their staff who have consistently stepped forward to better understand and act on this key issues. Architects and real estate appraisers: applicants and licensees: demographic information
AIA California has made it a priority to champion a culture of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to create an equitable community for all in the profession, and to better serve client and community. AB 342 will allow the California Architects Board (CAB) to ask licensees for demographic information to support industry EDI initiatives. This data will provide a better understanding of attrition and recruitment patterns, and serve as the basis for research that leads to strategies addressing barriers to entry within the profession.
